Officials originally spoke of half a million applications but Spain has now had over 900,000, with the total likely to reach a million.Meanwhile in Italy, a new party founded by former Italian general Roberto Vannacci is gaining serious momentum, challenging Giorgia Meloni and overtaking the long-established Lega party.
